Death of a dreamer

Death of a dreamer

A Poem by annabellee

Up on the highest tower
a dreamer died tonight
he climbed as high as he could get
but still couldn't touch the sky

So in the darkest hour
when the world doesn't see
he took his last step
and the last thing he saw was me

Then he fell into the stars
and became one of them
finally he was up high
and his world at last began

And now when I look up into the stars
I see his face up there
and all the other million faces
that died and landed there

A million dreamers shine tonight
at last, finally
and when I look up to them
sometimes I wish it could be me

And then I make a wish upon the stars
I wish I could climb higher
than anyone ever before
and I could touch the sky, yeah

Up on the highest tower
a dreamer died tonight
she climbed as high as she could get
but still couldn't touch the sky

So in the darkest hour
when the world doesn't see
she took her last step
and was never to be seen

But she fell into the stars
and became one of them
finally she was up high
and her world at last began

So if you wonder where I am
just look into the stars
there my life shines so brightly
'cause that's where dreamers are

another big thank you ;)
I loved this poem and in my view true dreamers never die. The reason why I am saying this is because the dreams which they weaved always leave their marks. Such a dreamer can never die even if that person does leave this world.
Great Poem and Wonderful Flow.

Annabellee, this poem of yours sounds like a song of hope even as it is called "Death of a Dreamer". It's the kind of song that makes one's eyes sparkle when the heart feels sore. Lovely work!

Many dreamers. I believe many of us are hoping and wishing for better days in the glory of the night. .
"But she fell into the stars
and became one of them
finally she was up high
and her world at last began"
I like the above lines a lot. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

This was a great write, it whispers to the reader's neglected aspirations. Well done.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :)
This is an insightful piece, annabellee. The death of the dreamer...is the way to follow his dream.

"And then I make a wish upon the stars
I wish I could climb higher
than anyone ever before
and I could touch the sky"

It's good to have a dream but it should be reachable. Sometimes, when we dream too big things, it's really difficult to attain them. Or when we attain them...it's when we almost have lost our life...

Great piece!
