Lost in confusion

You gave me High Hopes*

And under the touch of your lips

I faded into you**

As if I could already start anew.

I breathed my soul upon your skin

And forgot the whole world for a while,

As I got swept away into a moment

Of pure, passionate desire.

 

But since I have said goodbye

- A decision I now regret -

I fell back into my mind…

And simply cannot forget

That charming smile

You sat upon my world

When we first met.

Or when you deeply gazed

Far into my soul

Passionately biting

That infinity we shared.

 

However, for a silly, innocent mistake

Of an already such a shattered heart

You decided it was best

To simply take it all apart.

That's when gray rain

Started my feelings to regain

And breathing became pain

One more time and once again.

 

I now try to convince myself

That you were only an illusion.

But then why do I keep feeling

Lost in confusion?
