I say goodbye

I say goodbye

A Poem by Anggela

I’m on my own again

Everything I wanted is gone

I go through long streets

Alone.

Streets that once were ours,

That path belonged to us.

But now it’s all unknown.

Memories were washed away

For the sake of love.

As I walk

I see the bench were we sat,

Two lovers in the same spot,

So little they know

What will happen next.

If that bench will become

A painful memory as well.

I am swallowing it all,

The tears, the thought,

The wait, the torment,

As I keep facing my truth.

That I’m on my own again,

Everything I wanted is gone

I go through long streets alone,

As I say goodbye to the idea

Of being in love,

Of the thought of owning what never belonged to us.

Hello Anggela,
I really like your poetry, even when it’s painful. This poem is almost a mirror for me, so well does it describe my current state of life, so well does it evoke my moods, my sorrow, my loss. Nice writing.
