Human Trafficking by Anita RAMSHAJ
Today I’m going to write about humans and we all know that in the whole world are more than 7 billion people and this is a really big number. Of course that they are not the same from each other, some are bad some good ones, with different cultures and colors. The question is what is happening with humanity? What is happening with our feelings as humans? Do we want to be free and happy? So why we don’t want the same to others! I guess that this topic I’m writing about is important, at least is important to me. Everyday I’m seeing pictures and videos on TV, internet or on magazines talking about human trafficking, so I decided to talk about this. Today’s statistics are saying: “Today there are more than 30 million slaves in the world .More than any other time in history”. I’m shocked. That’s the worst thing that we all want to hear, you know why? Because we say that we are living in a modern life, and in the other side of the world nothing is modern at all. Who is going to talk or do something about that? Here are some facts about human trafficking:
1.From 30 million slaves in the world, more that 70% are females and half are children. Human trafficking is not just prostitution, human trafficking can be called if someone is forced to work or does something without his/her wish.
2.Globally cost of a slave is $90.
3.Some things that we use every day or we eat or wear are made by salves hands that are forced to work on factories or farms.
4.Human trafficking is not based on genre, age or religion, anyone can be a victim, but most of the victims are females age 18.
5.Albania is origin for the trafficking of women and girls for sexual exploitation. According to US state department, trafficking victims are trafficked to Greece and Italy and many of them are trafficked onward to U.K, France, Belgium, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.
The sad reality is that trafficking is a big business after arms sales and drug dealing. Some types of trafficking are: Organ trafficking, prostitution, abuse of children and in some cases kidnapping. This is present in Kosovo too, and maybe this is the reason why some parents are afraid to take their children to school. So why trafficking is still present in our modern life? Maybe now people are more unresposible for their things, they don’t care for the others and of course when the point is “Money”, they want to be rich by someone else who’s working for. I guess that this modern life is all about money, and ...Money. I’ve heard for some companies or something like that, who are giving false promises for a better life, and people trust them really easy, because they are looking for a better life, but the point is that those promises are for marriages or for a job but that are totally a lie, they are taking you straight to the wrong way of your life, the opposite of what you asked.
Outside, somewhere, I think there are people who think the same thing as me, or they think they can’t do a thing to stop this because they are not available to stop, but they actually can. Speak. The key of everything is language, talking, speak louder if we see or hear something about Human Trafficking or whatever is it. Someone needs our help, that maybe we will be looking for this help someday. This can be stopped just by us, because this “us” in generally made it.
Together, we can fight human trafficking...And win.
HUMANS SHOULD ACT MORE LIKE AS THEY ARE CALLED.
Thank you for your time, Anita.
