Just some venting

I feel that I seek validation in all I do.

 

It’s as if every moment in my life, I turn to someone in hopes they will tell me “you are doing great! Do continue!”

 

But when you’re forced on an adventure called “living your own life,” it becomes quite hard when the only person available to validate you all the time is yourself.

 

Not to end on a sad note, but…

 

I wish she could be more encouraging. Sometimes, it just sucks when you stare at the masterpiece you’ve spent hours on only to think “that’s all you can do? Why didn’t you spend that wasted time on doing something more productive?”

 

I wish I wasn’t like this. But I am stuck with myself for life, so maybe it’s time I get used to it.

 

Even though I know she is secretly proud of it as well…

Confidence takes time. Some have it in abundance, others don't and seek reassurance. That's perfectly ok. We grow at our own speed. As for writing, never let anyone say it is a waste of time. Stick with it, I have been there. I like where your thoughts led me.

Not everyone has confidence in themself or their work, but not everyone is completely proud of it either, and then there are those that can criticize themselves while still feeling a hint of achievement. We are our own worst critics, but creating something you, on your own, consider a masterpiece is never a waste of time!
