If Only

Everything is coming to a close
Like how life has its many highs and lows.
But I have yet to find the answer
To the question that you bestowed.

Many days have passed me on,
Yet I never once landed upon,
A solution that could justify
Between the line of what's wrong and right.

Is the world around us the only way?
Or is there something else to say?
Perhaps there is a hidden path
To escape the clutches of death's wrath.

I'm afraid my time is done
My apologies to those who died.
I wasn't able to save anyone
Even though I desperately tried.
