Clockwork of Love

Clockwork of Love

A Poem by Sync
"

A cliche and angsty love story...

"
A simple confession
"I like you"
An unexpected realization
"I do too"

That was the beginning

A kiss now and then
A hug no matter when
Smiles exchanged everytime
Is all this happiness a crime?

That was the sound of gears turning

Elegant girl, so they say
Without me knowing, stole him away
A cruel smirk danced across her face
As she twirled around in her dress of lace

That was her winning

A decision made
"I apologize"
Her vision began to fade
"I finally realize"

That was her falling

A deafening scream broke through
Eyes widening, he knew
Thinking that it was a lie
Until he saw her whisper "Goodbye"

That was the beginning of the ending

Another death two days later
He thought it was for the better
In one hand, he clutched a letter
Saying he was glad he met her

With a bitter smile, he dove
For the sake of his first love
In his dying moments, he dreamed
Of her last words, or so it seemed

As they both arrived at death's door
"May we meet each other once more"

Not difficult to understand at all. It's a cute, but poignant piece. My favorite lines must be "As they both arrived at death's door / "May we meet each other once more". Very sweet, very sorrowful, very youthful. Keep it up.
