Two Worlds

Two Worlds

A Poem by deepblue04

My grandfather came

Down a long line of scholars

His father taught him

The ways of Confucisism

At a young age

My grandfather taught

All of his six kids

What his dad taught him

Including my mom

When I came to Korea

For a second time

I met him as if it was the first time

At the time,

I barely knew Korean

And he didn’t know any English

Yet somehow

I could tell what he was saying

And he could tell what I said

From this it taught me one thing

Even though there is someone

That no one could understood

They can tell what that one person meant.

I like the logic of the above words. You were lucky to be taught old and wise wisdom. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Did u mean Confucianism? It had a good thought on it though...

Sounds like a pleasant experience. There are many ways of communicating besides verbal. Our body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, the collection of chocolates we offer, all speak volumes in communicating with a loved one. Your poem shows that.

I really like it! Language sometimes don't really matter, love is always given through unspoken words! I like the idea of this poem really much, isn't love always the best;D Nice written!

very truee..its not necessary to understand teh language others speak...as its well known action speaks louder than words and sometimes the words and emotions of heart r much understood even without being spoken..:)..great
