Drawing

Drawing

A Poem by deepblue04

Moving down the paper,

more lines,

more shading.

Do I know what it's going to be?

No I do not,

But something is going to come soon.

More lines on the paper,

More shading,

maybe a little erasing,

sweeping the remains

of my erasing

Do I know what it's going to be?

No I do not,

But something is going to come soon.

Shapes is starting to appear,

Something is coming.

Where is going to end?

No one knows but the pencil,

itself.

Ah, this drawing is starting to appear,

I know what I'm going to draw.

It's a grassland,

with a couple having a picnic,

under a tree.

I'm now satisfy,

so is my hand,

who finally puts the pencil down.

Since pencil drawing was my first love I can relate to this poem. Sometimes we just feel a creative urge and start drawing, painting or writing, letting our thoughts wander. Then, occasionally, our free-form squiggles may coalesce into something beautiful, such as this poem.

You mean "are there grammar problems."
I would say to cut out "itself" because it detracts from how the good use of personification if the pencil, so you've thought about what you're going to write before you have done it so that's good.
Also, "I'm now satified" is what you mean, not "satify" and I don't like the repetition of of verse 4 from 2.

thanks!
5th stanza 1st line: change 'is' to 'are.'
5th stanza 3rd line: Either change 'where' to 'when,' or add 'it' after 'is.'
Lovely concept, how portraits often draw themselves. The same logic could be applied to writing, as much poetry is written by themselves.

I believe drawing is a form of poetry. Artwork can take someone to a place with a glance. I like the description of drawing and the emotion of feeling good when you are done. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
