prologue

I was walking down the street trying to think of something happy.  This day has been horrible.  I failed my English test, my girlfriend broke up with me, and my mother kicked me out of the house.  Walking down the street has been my only relief to stress.  I walk down some more, looking at the stores and the customers.  I saw my ex-girlfriend walking with another guy.  No one has acknowledged me; it’s as if I don’t exist in this world.

                I think I really did need this time to cool off though.  For a while, whenever my ex-girlfriend and I were still dating, she was hiding a lot of things about her life.  One of them was about seeing the guy that I just saw her with.  Also, that guy she was with was my friend.  One thing my friend decided after the break up was that he never talks to me again.   Now I wonder how all of this came to be.

                I thought for another block or two down the street.  With each step, memories started to fill me.  It would be best to think of this from the beginning, from the very beginning to when I first saw her.
