Words that come at me

Words that flow by me

Words, they don't hold a grip on me

They don't hold meaning to me anymore

 

I am going to ignore the ones

That talk about me behind me

I am going to acknowledge the ones

That only talk well of me

I am going to take notes of the ones

That could help me in the future

 

People, they don't realize

People, they don't acknowledge

People, they don't know

How words affect people

 

And yet they stare

They stare at the wierd

They stare at the unique

They stare at the ones that get nervous around them

They don't realize a thing

Your poem seems to be talking about how attitudes and words can hurt other people. And, sometimes, we may not even realize the effect on others when we say thoughtless things. The poem also identifies the egocentric view, which some people have, of their world, thinking that everyone who looks, speaks, or acts different is strange. It's an interesting writing.

Its a sad but very truthful poem. Oh how words can hurt and cut, but those who gave those words sometimes dont feel a thing. Its really well done and I can definetly relate to it.

Wow, this is an engaging and sad poem because it is so true! I'm sure I'm one to blame, but people just seem to look down and slowly inch away from anything different or unique. People really need to just calm down, take a look around, and smile.
