All alone

This is about a wyvern named Shaded Light who was sent away from his clan. Not all of it, I'll add more when I have time.

"Shaded Light, my precious little Shaded Light" the mother said softly, nuzzling the baby dragon. Shaded Light was the smallest of the three baby wyverns, and the mother knew what that meant. "It's time to send him away" a male dragon said from the entrance of the cave. "Please, let him stay. He'll grow" the mother begged. "You know the customs of our clan" the male growled. The mother gently put her son on her back and flew out. Shaded Light curled up on his mother's back, not knowing what was happening. His black scales blended in with his mothers. The only way to tell that he was there was if you looked close enough, or you saw the patch of yellow scales around his left eye.

 

"Mom, where are we?" Shaded Light asked when he was set down. His mother didn't say anything she just turned and flew away, tears going down her cheeks. "Mom wait. You forgot about me" Shaded Light called, trying to fly after her. He was much to young to fly though. "Why did she leave me?" he asked himself softly, watching her until she was out of sight. "You're to small for her to take care of. If a wyvern is to small, the clan throws it out. I've seen it happen many times" a snake said, slithering out from under a bush. The snake was black under it's scales, and the bottom of it was pink. The scales on it's back were rainbow colored, sparkling beautifully in the sunlight.
