Yes be careful of being full of yourself...
others have more space to do that, but their humble demeanor will shoot you down in a second.
There is always someone who is better than we, who could beat us at anything we think we are the champions of...
a little less ego goes a long way.
a poem with strong philosophy,

But this poem is not about being full of yourself or being self-centered. That's a very shallow way to approach life. That's exactly the opposite I did try to convey through this poem. Being open, being more receptive to others, being more balanced and holding onto your roots is what I wanted to convey in this write. Hope this clarifies.
Basically, we must not get carried away, hold onto our roots to so that we do not go astray, we stay balanced.
Thanks for stopping by, J. and sharing your thoughts. Appreciate it.

This poem made me think about how we need to stay balanced in the face of so many things in life. Staying balanced is something we all strive for. It is just a personal state of equilibrium in the face of flattery, failure, loss, broken relationships and misunderstandings. If everything stayed the same we would not be tested for our balance so this 'sometimes' you speak of is very important. Thank you.

Yes, Balance or equilibrium we all strive to achieve. Aren't we in that state of eternal pursuit to get better or be better version of ourselves. Thank you for reading and sharing your perspectives, Sabrina.
A very sombre tone in this poem filled with sage warnings about our behaviour towards others and avoiding getting too 'full of ourselves'. A nicely put, flowing piece.

Being rooted sounds like being centered. Good philosophy. Good poem.
