Let's talk for a while,
even if it's just not been a longtime.
Let's walk for a mile,
even if it's just for little steps to chime.
Let's create memories in a pile,
even if it's just to capture the life sublime.
Let's smile with all style,
even if it's just for a minute's time.
Let's make it all worthwhile,
even if it's just our downtime.
For once, let your thoughts fly,
from soul to heart to eye,
give me no reason why.
I remember times like these in my youth, when life wasn't so planned out, when things could happen spontaneously, when small adventures came along every day. As I watch humans turning into frustrated bickering political animals biting at each other & hiding behind required facemasks & preferring the cloak of ether camouflage . . . I really long for times that felt more trusting & open & real. Very thought-provoking poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

As a matter of fact, nothing works according to a plan anyways. There's always something that you wish had happened or done differently. I like your perspectives and thoughts on this one. True, the current times we are in - world is changing and more so the people. Hope things are back to normal and for better in the world around us! Thank you Margie for reading and sharing your thoughts. Appreciate it!

Margie stole my thinking.
I remember when things just happened, you went out at nine in the morning and never returned. If this happened today the'd be sending out a search party. I suppose the downside of the computer age is everything is instant, the world news bombards you 24/7, probably why we're all overloaded and done in.
We need more simplicity in life.

Thank you Paul for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on this.
I think your ending lines
'For once, let your thoughts fly,
from soul to heart to eye,
give me no reason why.'
say it all in this piece filled with emotion.
