Wanderer

Wanderer

A Poem by Abhilash Hegde

those abandoned roads, I travel
to seek out my disillusioned castle.
with a broken compass in hands
I've set off to Utopian lands.

as the winds befriend me,
those bare-bewitched eyes see
of a recluse I'm to be,
sipping that cup of night tea.

these crossroads aren't any strangers,
they greet me like my next-door neighbors.
we speak to each other in melancholic solitude
and exchange directions with a warm gratitude.

I ain't know when to stop
every other day just another hop
maybe, crack open myself to talk ?

to far-off I may wander
this ain't a meek-heart to squander.
I'm journeying to meet my life node
on that less-traveled desolated road
as I search for my long-lost abode.

I love this mystical write, Abhi. The road less travelled is very finely painted through excellent word choice. You are an artist with words! A wonderful allegorical gem. Only the v-e-r-y brave act independently and free themselves from the conformity of others who choose to take the other road, the one most travelled. A very upbeat poem! Though the compass is broken, the dream is not cancelled as you set off for Utopia! The metaphorical road is filled with bumps, potholes and the possibilities of getting lost, but I feel a strong desire for spiritual enlightenment is the reason for making this road your choice, Abhi. If this is so, I can assure you that you will grow in ways you never imagined possible. Exquisitely penned! I love this v-e-r-y meaningful, intuitive, thought provoking poem. A super poetic gem! THANK YOU! for sharing, Abhi. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the day and a very blessed new week ahead filled with the very best of everything for you to enjoy, especially everything you wish for our dearest self...

I liked it here, when you said the cross roads aren't any strangers. I liked the whole stanza in particular, especially,"exchanging directions with a warm gratitude". Very nicely written.
I enjoyed your journey and the search for the long lost abode. You do put some element of nature in your work, it seems. I love that. what are we without those elements ?
Nice write with good rhyming.
Thanks for sharing and keep writing.:-):-)
