Tears

They trickled
one by one
incessantly
to fill
the abyss of pain.

I watched them
eye to eye
in hollow numbness
to fill
the empty pots
of self.

The saline drops
strayed
on my notepad
and the ink
ceased to
form letters.

The nib of
my life
dried in
the ink blots
on white paper
not knowing
if ever
it could pen again...
