In awe of her

In awe of her

A Poem by Abhilash Hegde

The rose melted lips
of hers,
hugged in rosiness
to conceal their words,
just like the lily's
that blushed in treacly sense
when the bees kissed them.

The quivering eyelashes
of hers,
fluttered in naughtiness
to sometimes blink
and to sometimes wink,
just like the innocence
in my eyes
that surrendered
unto a heavenly uneasiness
to hide from their seething arrows.

The jet black strands of hair
of hers,
wore the scent
of the blossoming jasmine
to touch the soft skin
beneath my ears,
just like the waves
of silken touch
and of raging love
that furiously galloped
lashing at my heart shore.

The satin fur skin
of hers,
tasted me sublime
and embraced me
in the eternal warmth,
just like the crescent hung moon
that awaited to be
adored and relished
to bring its pristine soul alive
to make love
forever and forever...

I'm not a fan of romantic love poems becuz, like this one, it's mostly about the physical, & always the same over-celebrated aspects of one's physical presence. These types of poems bore me to tears. But I have to say that the originality of your word-crafting does bring this poem alive with dynamic imagery for all the senses. I disagree that anyone should be IN AWE of anyone else . . . it's a ridiculous state of mind . . . just euphoria & unrelated to the reality of getting along as 2 human beings. That's why I would love to know if the object of this obsession has a personality of any kind? Sorry for being so tough on this poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Another fine write, Abhilash.

Again, a very good choice of words and descriptive imagery, all flowing very well and delicately from beginning to end. A poem reminiscent of the Romantics, where the poet literally drips love for the object of his affection on to the page.

Very nice writing!

Oh.. so sweet and romantic...
you have a good sense of describing which when a reader reads, feels like it's going before him or her. It makes a picturesque infront of me, especially the jet black hair part . .. it's too good....
