opening

A Poem by D.L. Holmes
"

"opening' that's what was written above this on the crumbled legal pad I found I had written it on. I wonder what I meant to use it for...curious creature I can be sometimes. Thanks for reading.

"
It's not like I can fly away
I've got no place to go
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
No place to call my home...
No vampire-esque Juliet
that I can call my own
or even in my wildest dreams
a sadist Romeo...
I feel it in my very bones
that I am falling fast
into a world of decadence
where oxygen is glass
and inhalation's tricky because
I breath in through my skin
My heart beats in my throat it seems
my lungs pulse beneath my wrist
So I will breath in one last time
One final giant breath...
rejecting love and promises
embracing my own death
