the Sea

the Sea

A Poem by D.L. Holmes
"

still to this day, not sure why I fear the ocean.

"
Can you feel the water
in the sea
though we're thousands of miles away?
I can feel it now
it's calling me
it has me in it's sway
I travel to it in my sleep
it seems I go by flight
I travel there quite often, though
I mostly go by night
I fly until the darkness
all around me I can see
it reaches out
it grabs my throat
the pain awakens me
Then I'm back lying next to you
awakened from my screams
with no other explanation except
"The sea is calling me..."
