early morn captive

early morn captive

A Poem by keith
"

in all it's splendor

"
early morn captive

early morn captive
found my way to the spring box
gathering water for the day
it was clear it was cool
it was life giving
great coffee it made
the one room shack
offered basic shelter
it was old even ancient
i was not the first
to make claim of
it's calm and charm
nor would i be the last
a world
in all it's splendor
waited patiently a step away
as loyal dog alert for command
it owned this space
i willingly surrendered.
