long road traveled body

my day began in hours predawn
hot coffee
set led zep free as songbird
not loud well not too loud
glass bottled mineral water
topo chico
room temp
handful of toasty cheese doodles thingies
or whatever they are called now days
blast of flavor
no honey bun or cinnamon roll
for me this morn no cer ree!
recharging invigorating
a welcomed morning pee
simple pleasure it can be
up and off out the doors
breakfast not yet but later
there are chores a plenty waiting
friends are hungry
for feeding and time with two legs
that is what i hear them calling me
two legs is coming
two legs is here
tending sitting listening to the chatter
watching the playful dance of young fowl
answering the call to dance defense
if they only knew their destination
my mouth and table share word similar
both being foul/fowl HA!
man cannot be self sufficient
self reliant si
my garden provides flavor and sustenance
for this old long road traveled body
my table fare makes kings jealous
or it would should i share
not with them anyway
to friends and a few foes do the spoils
of this rich soil of many toils go
for free for sale for trade
it all has purpose has need
nothing wasted
nothing serving greed
life can be grand

if we let it
