who i am what i be chapter 2

an honest appraisal is always in order.

i try my best to tell the truth, sometimes i fail ... i recycle ... i buy my work clothes from the local goodwill ... i like vegetables, i like my meat even more ... i am not ashamed to admit i am a dallas cowboy fan and have been for more than 50 years ... i would rather be barefoot ... i have burkenstocks ... i wear wrangler jeans ... i have been known to skinny dip ... i still have a dislike for nixon ... i find great pleasure when sitting at the potter's wheel ... in my collection of old vinyl, there is the first lp i ever bought, walk don't run '64 by the ventures ... i use lower case because i find caps to be RUDE ... my sense of humor sometimes surprises me ... i don't lay out in the sun just to get some color ... i wear flowery hawaiian shirts in the winter months ... i still get itchy when picking fresh okra ... i remember the 60s and 70s very well ... babies and puppies occupy that vulnerable place in my heart ... i am not a subscriber of any religion ... i open doors for others ... i could eat a grilled cheese sandwich everyday ...  my favorite hemingway short story is 'hills like white elephants''... i use my truck's turn signals ... i have never been one for the games of chance, cards, dice, but make no mistake do not bring your rent money to the pool hall, ever ... never have liked chewing gum ... can't remember the last haircut ... i question sharing these things about myself since i haven't told you my name ... i have been to more grateful dead concerts than i have fingers and toes, times two ... i have been making change to blueprints for a dog trot house i designed more than 20 years back, maybe i will finally get it right ... i have enjoyed drinking lone stars while playing dominoes across the table from willie nelson, he always wins ... i like quiche ... my garden is organic, tomatoes are my thing ... i do not have a cw permit for the pistol i keep in my truck ... i have a special love for wood ... i do not curse around children, adults yes, children no ... way back in high school i played keyboards in a band called sunshine jello ... in my studio there sits a '63 gt hawk studebaker, i use it as study of design and sometimes just to sit in ... i have been known to vote regularly ...  i would rather hear our national anthem be performed by the us navy band, not sung ... the jimi hendrix  experience was my first concert ... i like my pond bugs in a boil ... i do not tolerate racism ... i know the value of a dollar ... my sister-in-laws tolerate me because my brothers love me ... i like the color black ... i miss my dogs ... i have never had starbuck's ... i usually drive the speed limit ... i find the warm embrace of a friend more than i sometimes deserve ... i would not live my life over if given the  chance, i could not do justice to the original ... i am just like you, only different.
