knock knock

A Poem by keith
"

there's a chicken at my door

"
this mornings
my 4 roosters decided i was not moving
fast enough
to meet their demands
and literally 'flew' their coop
landing at my back door
crying their morning song
c**k-a-doodle-doo!
(a repost worthy of return visit)

knock knock

knock knock
there's a chicken
at my door
not wearing a mask is beyond ignorant
it's just plain a*s stupid
what?
not fashionable enough?

knock knock
there's a chicken
at my door
these days are confusing
hot when its cold
cold when its supposed to be hot
the calendar rings may

knock knock
there's a chicken
at my door
partisan uproar the norm
a denial of self inflicted
ignorance ... arrogance
such waste it is

knock knock
there's a chicken
at my door
far left further right
sanctimonious gestures
to an empty crowd of dead
stacked like cord wood

knock knock
there's a chicken
at my door
no live animals were harmed
in the writing of this
literary t**d
herd immunity herd mentality
nada heard

knock knock
BOOM!

no chicken no more
