i am at odds within myself taking away the beauty of the day

how am i to continue even the simple when remembrance brings sorrow

when the walk becomes struggle to change one's ways

even when times are at their best questions give way to no answer

did i do all i could did i just close my eyes

was i selfish but for my own refusing to accept that which was near

how long until the pain goes it's way and i can 

once again enjoy the memories we made together

when does it become ok to finally let go
