we are man

we are man

A Poem by keith
"

there will never be lasting peace

"

doves of peace fall heavily
like pennies in a bucket of blood
greed power revenge
wars of man are meaningless
dead pile high
like firewood stacked tight
tears flow weakly
too many nights spent in fear
hiding in hunger in anguish
pains of war
exempt no one
not father not mother
nor sister nor brother
one million or more in forced march
for their lives
forced to leave their homes
their homes of sanctuary
their homes of comfort
of safety of well being
war has no guilt only blames for man
there will never be lasting peace
we are man
once attacked always a victim
to not condemn is to condone
freedom becomes pause

 or maybe not

I love your opening statement that doves of peace fall heavily like pennies in a bucket of blood. Vivid imagery well stated and written.
