take my key

take my key

A Poem by keith
"

unlock the door

"

take my key

take my key
then go
knock not next time
unlock the door let yourself in
ask not questions
come and lie by my side
hold me caress me
let me know this is not an end
only but a pause
needed to complete
this strange love we share
take my key
then leave me be

I like it, Keith.

Lucky me, the first to review this one for you.
It's good to enjoy how you've selected a complimentary picture to help set the mood for what's to come. Then, the clean presentation that allows your words to breathe and the reader to feel a sense of unconfined freedom.
Metaphor seems to be your friend, too, as is your syntactic flow that enjambs smoothly from line to line, thought to thought, with emotion and imagery that tugs your readers into your moment … sure signs of a seasoned poet.
What more could a lover or friend with benefits ask than to be thought enough of to be trusted and privileged with a key of their own and the freedom to come and go as will and desire dictate, knowing they will be welcomed … such a smooth 'n comfortably harmonious arrangement.
Makes one wish they had a relationship like the one you've created for us to imagine and smile about.

Thanks for sharing this facet of your imagination … very enjoyable, indeed.
Glad I dropped by! ⁓ Richard🖌
