Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by SaRuGi

Strolling down the alley alone at night,

Living the dark and fearing the light.

Hiding elsewhere when the sun comes to bright.

Avoiding the light of fright.

For I have been in hide ever since the day I was here.

Even afraid of going over a weir.

Like the dark I am hidden.

Hidden from the light of forbidden.

Savoring the sweet sense of fear in the dark

Leaving at the sight of spark.

Seeing what I can do in the sense of fear,

I am never going to be back with a tear.

The tear of love.

I really like the line "Living the dark and fearing the light", and that there are varying lengths of lines- it keeps the rhythm somewhat choppy and the reader engaged. You lost me at the last three lines the first time I read it; the twist to the poem's ending could be a tad more defined, but it's still a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing

Suggestions? Write more of this beautifully expressed poetry! This is getting to the core of fear promptly and giving the reader a shiver right in the beginning: "Living the dark and fearing the light.
Hiding elsewhere when the sun comes to
bright"
This is chilling. "Like the dark I am hidden. "
There are tiny translation into English mistakes but I think they lend charm and mystery to your work.
