Pride..A Poem by Angie GLove comes and goes when you least expect it, but, will you listen to your heart or your pride??
I found myself wrapped around your arms. Holding me by the waist, listening to your heartbeat.
My heart dancing to the rhythm of your whispers. Sweet sound that made me drown in melancholy. Yet I held back the tears for they would not change that moment. So I remembered our love and a smile found its way to my lips. And as I held on to you a little tighter I heard you say into my ear... "Don't ever doubt my love for you, for it was true and genuine". As you let go and kissed my lips, I knew it would be the last. And as I walked away and wished you the best, I felt it.... Excruciating pain ... That which came when pride stopped me from fighting for your love. © 2017 Angie GFeatured Review
