I heard youA Poem by Angie G
I heard you last night. You whispered " I'm sorry".
You thought I was sleeping, while I was silently weeping. You traced my face, my heart began to race. You started to tell of the day we first met, how you knew my heart you had to get. You remembered the first kiss, a memory I couldn't miss. How my lips trembled at your touch, you remembered it at such. You talked about our wedding day, how beautiful I looked. Something you said your breath it took. That night would be my first. You a man full of hunger and thirst. You tried to be gentle, to give me some time. For the culmination of that moment would be sublime. You remember me happy and full of joy. You promised to love me and never me toy. I heard you say " I'm sorry" for having lied. For hurting me deeply although you never tried. That spark and life in me now gone, your coldness and distance had all this done. And as I hear you say it all, I wonder how it came to be, That all this hurt and pain I feel, you never seemed to see. I heard you say " I'm sorry" and your tears touched my face. As always my silent tears, falling into empty space. © 2014 Angie GReviews
