A world made of bubbles

A world made of bubbles

Albert's Poetry Cafe - Tivoli's 10 words challenge - using all ten words, write a prose poem that speaks of loss: clear/ gone/ one/ pretending /smile/ voice/ gray/ recalling/ souls/ nowhere

"

Our world is made of bubbles we fabricate
Every time a bubble is gone
“puff”, “pop”, “pooh”
Another bubble bursts
“plop”, “pluck” and “peep”
To see the universe in a peculiar way
According to the disposition of our day

Is there a real world, equal for everyone?
Or just these individual bubbles
Going “puff”, “pop” and “plop”, “peep”
Pretending to be a clear voice
Coming from real life accuracy

Some times my bubble world seams bright:
“plop”, the plants blossom
“pluck”, the birds sing everywhere
“peep”, children smile, dance and play
and people look so nice in their different way

One day a bubble comes “popping” in gray
“pooh”, the plants are all dying away
“pop”, the children are sick and hungry
“puff”, people are crying and suffering
Hopes can be found nowhere around

Can we ever find a real common universe?
Or only these personal bubbles fantasy
Going “Puff”, “pop” or “plop”, “peep”
Masking the world reality

“Popping” bubbles with different souls
When someone is happy others get sad
When some smile others want them to cry
No one trusts another person’s bubble
We can never agree
And my experiences just serve me

I ask myself if one day
We can all make an enormous bubble
Where the same reality can fit in
Or where we can have some common sense
Not going “puff”, “pop”, “pooh”

I don’t know...
and some days I’m so sad
I whish I could swallow myself
And go, like a bubble, “puff”, “pop” and “pooh”
Disappearing like wind in the reality air

Can you tell me if there is a real world?
With no “puff”, “pop”, “plop”, “pluck”, “peep”
Somewhere we can all meet
Recalling the same reality
Or, at least have the same peaceful fantasy

What a wonderful way to take something light and airy and suspend within it the essence of most daily existence. Well done, not just the artistic creation but in the insightful way of reaching out to try to create understanding and involvement. Not that i believe in evolution, but I do believe in change and expect that each one of us can and often do move our lives away from the gray to the bright of day, from the dead to the living, and go on with our lives. Improving the lives of those around us too.

I like this; it's very philosophical, without being agenda-ridden. I like the metaphor of bubbles, especially the line "no one trusts another person's bubble." The poem left me thinking, and that's the best thing a poem can do, in my opinion.

I loved this. To tell you the truth; it brightened my day.

This is my favorite of all your poems. Your use of onomatopoeia is exquisite! You did a great job, Angelina.

I understand the sincere feelings expressed in your thoughtful poem. The older I get the more I realize happiness and sadness co-exist. It never does any good to feel guilty when we're happy, but I'd like to think it does matter if we acknowledge difficulties by doing what we can to comfort those who need a kind word. Maybe it's times like these when bubbles can merge to bring us closer to our fellow neighbors, friends and family. Wonderful poem, Angi. Sharon
