CharacterizationA Poem by angelina nevesCharacters Characteristics Characterization
Through out our lives We adopt one Then we pick another Mix them Trying to find out who we are What we want to become Following those we like That touched us Those we consider Heroes or heroines Someone we admire…
We form our character Adding little special pieces of the real or fiction characters Imitating parents, family, Romances, films Even songs…
Characters Characteristics Characterization We choose picking a role! And most of the poor Just whish to be someone rich And many women Just want to be the fragile princess That must be protected By some enchanted strong prince And lots of men want to be strong The leader, the provider And all powerful want to be seen As good, honest, helpful person We all should love and defend And priests want to be saints And young want to be adults And adults want to stay young For ever and ever And most choose the most incredible Stupid fiction heroes and roles And then they say they are victims!
The “Victim” Is the most popular role The winner of any contest On characterization Almost everyone Likes to be a poor victim Of some big complot Specially organized To destroy their dreams And victims blame others Parents Family, gods Even their children That didn’t asked to be born On “society” the blame is In men if they are women In women if they are men In white if they are black In black if they are white In east they blame west In south they blame north Blaming capitalism or fascism Or communism Blaming anything or anyone But the victim Will never blame Their own choices!
And no one stops To think, reflect, analyze On what is wrong In the character The characteristic The characterization In the role They have chosen to play!
Isn’t it time for us The so called “adults” Of the Human kind To grow up And be responsible For our own choices in life Not going on and on and on Just blaming others For our own faults And the characters We choose to play? © 2008 angelina nevesReviews
