Help me if you can I’m feeling blue

“When I was younger, so much younger then today”

I went from A to Z and return to an A just to say "au revoir"

I would make a poem, I would cry some tears

Someone would wipe with care

As a new adventure start...

In a magic stroke

Life would always give me what I would ask.

 

“Now those days are gone and I’m not so self assure”

Everything starts and finishes in a sad  A of  "au revoir"

There are no Bes, or Ces, or  Des

And an "au revoir" doesn't mean news are coming

is something that is lost and will never return

There are no magic strokes

Or the strokes don't work as I would fancy

 

I wish I could scream out loud

“Help me if you can I’m feeling down”

I'm tired of restarting a never ending

And no longer know how to write or how to cry

No one is near to wipe my tears

Now everyone has a lot to do

And no one has any time to lose...

Author's Note

* I made this poem when I was in my 40 something (now I'm 64!)... but thought it would go well in this contest (just translated from Portuguese!)
