Save the world!

Save the world!

A Poem by angelina neves

I have all the best intentions!

I swear!

I want to save you…

Don’t you want me to save you?

I have all the best receipts

In the book I have written with my life!

Don’t you need to be saved?

Why can’t you be saved by me?

(Is this a drama? Should I cry?

Is it a comedy? Should I laugh?

It is possible to change very easily

From crying to laughing

in this theater play that is life!)

You want to save me?!

But I don’t need to be saved by you!

Do you see my lovely friend?

I don’t want to be saved by you

The book you have written

With all the life experiences

Could never save me from myself!

Even if I credulous believed

You love me and want the best for me

I wouldn’t let you do it for me

You wouldn’t let me do it for you

(Is this a drama? Should you cry?

Is it a comedy? Should you laugh?

It is possible to change very easily

From crying to laughing

in this theater play that is life!)

Probably You dream about someone special

Coming your way and save you

But that someone is very busy

Trying hard to save another one

This doesn’t want to be saved

By that one that is willing to do it

And is waiting for the right person

To come and save the world!

The other way round is also true:

You just whished you could save

The loved ones and they don’t see

Your good intentions

Wanting to save someone else!

A circle that never ends

Going round and round and round!

No one really wants to be saved

Just dreams to play the game

To someone special in some special time!

(Is this a drama? Should we cry?

Is it a comedy? Should we laugh?

It is possible to change very easily

From crying to laughing

in this theater play that is life!)

We all are the ones making the world!

So, you can’t save the world

The world doesn’t want to be saved

All the world thinks

It doesn’t need to be saved

By you or by me

And probably everyone in the world

Is just waiting and dreaming

About some special being

That will come out of nowhere

To save the world from itself!

(Is it a drama? Should we cry?

bua… bua… bua…

Is it a comedy? Should we laugh?

Ah ah ah eh eh! Oh oh ah ah!)

Forget about being a savior!

Forget about being saved!

It is possible to change

By being responsible of ourselves

Our lives, our dreams

Looking in front of us

Choosing our way of living

And learn that the most we can do

Is to save our own selves

And share our knowledge with others

Showing others how it worked for us

How they can, if they want and need

Save their selves

And nothing else!

Is this a drama?

Should all of us cry together?

Is this a comedy?

Should all of us laugh together?

May be if we could do it together

It is possible to change something

And with out noticing it

We All together

Could starting writing

A new book of life

That would save the world!

I agree, no one person can be a world saver.

A bit idealistic and Utopian, but certainly you have your heart in the right place, dear Angi! I like the spirituality you consistently bring to your poetry. It is uniquely wonderful. Lydia

Indeed, this is a fascinating concept, passionately tranfixing
intellectualism devoted to pursuing the cause, engaging expression
as magnificently rendered thought, delivered with intentful
meaning, to save the world through self responsability by taking
accountability for one's action, combining consious effort to
preserve our planet, your words draw conviction from the heart,
i certainly believe in your idea, thank you angie, you are a visionary, always, mike
