"

Cries of owls in the dark night of humanity

Huge eyes meddling in violent thoughts of anger

In the day light the crock crock of dangerous ravens

Pecking at bloody rubbish of the souls

Fog, mist, deadly poisons, toxic pollution

Flying over the cities, the citizens and all that is alive

Undead wandering well equipped without smiles

Broken hearts, broken stomachs smelling rotten

Trembling neon lights flash advertises

Hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, paradises of lust…

Walking carefully, tying to be calm and transparent

Not stumbling on the empty cans, on the fatty rats

Into the angry violent undead ready to destroy life

Or upon those eyes wide open looking without seeing…

I’m afraid but find the courage to go on,  searching for life

In this game of playing with shadows of misery and horror

I must find someone living, alive, who can still smile

With a breading heart, blinking eyes, noses nostrils that can smell

Some hand I can hold to carry on my endless task

Planting seeds that can resist and will give flowers and fruits

Invigorate the air for us to breathe calm and hope

Making the humanity reborn once again in this world

:) "our reality" more horrible then ruins of castles and ghosts... sadly, I "hope" it is horrible enough for this contest!!!

I did enjoy the journey in the poetry.

You are right my friend and you are welcome. We must go forward.
An intriguing read of the woes of humanity......shall we ever learn to get along, to love one another rather than spread hate to those who are our brothers and sisters of humanity? Alas, I think not, but we must continue to write of it!

Has human kindness died? I would like to believe it has not. Your images are dark and depressing, but oh so vivid. The onomatopeia of "crock crock" is wonderful. I could see the neon signs flickering and smell the pollution in the air. There is much misery and horror in the world, no doubt about it. Planting seeds of human kindness is something everyone can do to change this. Your poem, while dark, brings hope. Well written. lydi**
