Guardian Angel

-

Falling from the clouds,

Clouds one to three to nine,

Hearing the magicians' bows,

And losing track of time.

Skies and lights and thunder,

And the ringing in my ears,

Yet I fall, I take my plunder,

Forgetting all my years.

I'm hunted, I rebelled,

And I did it all for you.

And yet you sit there, uncompelled,

To confess what you know is true.

My faith became a blank space,

Slowing fading away.

Harsh reality took its place,

For the truth is what you say.

Being with you changed me,

And for that, I was cast out.

Now on earth I stand, down on my knees,

Filled with fear and doubt.

Maybe it should be this way,

Trading wings for legs.

What was my home, I have betrayed,

And I refuse to beg.

So let me stay here with you,

There's nowhere else to go.

I promise I will fight it through,

Won't let the true pain show.

I'm no angel, but I'll be your guard,

Protector, defender, friend.

My hands, my heart, they both stand scarred,

But they'll see it through to the end.

Yes, I wrote this one about Castiel. Don't judge me.
