FLIGHT

FLIGHT

A Poem by Claire Angeles

My wings were clipped

as I soared up to the clouds

Plummeting down to earth

Passing the clouds of sorrow.

I tried to fly high again

Wounded and marred

Towards the orange and gray fluffs.

I am but a passing shadow

Glancing at the ball of fire

Placidly sinking below the horizon

Hiding behind the green and brown tower.

I am but a little bird

Flying wounded

with hope

gazing down at the barren blanket.

Wings ready to flap again

and soar high above

The earth of dreams.
