Unlike the Rest

Unlike the Rest

A Chapter by R E Tree
"

This is for those who have been a victim at high school and it has bothered you all your life.

"

He wore glasses,

Thick lens,

He was into comic books,

He admired super heroes

He was into science,

Never interested in sports,

He looked at galaxies,

Through his telescope,

He was bullied...

For not having,

A favorite football team,

On his wall,

Instead of naked chicks,

He had posters of his favorite cartoons,

He's never had his first kiss

Guys laugh at him,

For being scared to ask a hot chick out,

He was always,

The last to be invited to any club,

Or a party in town

People made jokes,

Because he was the only one,

That wouldn't drink,

High School has turned into a joke,

70% of people,

Cannot be themselves at high School

High School is not a place,

For nerds, jocks or Goth’s

It's a place for everyone

No matter who they are,

If they stand out or if they don't

Who cares?

It's better to be unlike the rest,

insightful and expressed intelligently
highschool is a challenge for all of us
and a transition phase
i went through some rough times and looking back
what every teen needs is a sense of esteem to not fall into the trap of others defining them
life is all about change and this too shall pass....
keep the priorities of what is important at heart and let yes its better to be unlike the rest...

Individuality is a something to be embraced. The social mills often operate to destroy that.

True, oh so very true. This piece puts a wonderful insight into the minds of our youth and points out that no matter what people should pay attention to what they say or do because they have no idea who they could be harming.

Your words are true. The people who were reading book and preparing for life are the people who are content with their life today. Takes many people to make this world work properly. Great wisdom in your words. if we listen to those people who see life with different eyes. Maybe we could learn something. A excellent poem.

wow Awesome peom, so much thought was out into this. It takes me back to school before I was homeschooled. People these's days can be so man to others that don't seem to "fit in" But your poem has so much truth and a wonderful point to it! Thanks for sharing this awesome poem. Very nice work.

Nobody's the same.....Not in the least, no matter how much they look alike. There's always something different whether or not it's a personality trait or a freckle on someone's face....I know I like being the observer in the group of my friends, because no one notices the things i do. Like how much they hurt someone who dresses or talks a little bit different then them...I mean none of us where the same thing. Well some of us wear the same shirts because it's a private school. But that's not the point. on a day we're not in uniform...You don't see everyone walking in the hallway dressed the same.

you are exactly like my daughters~ a strong and proud young woman who knows herself~ who own herself and who stands up for those who may not be able to stand up for themselves~
