The Power Of Words

The Power Of Words

A Poem by angelinmypocket

The Power Of Words

If words had the power to control a life,
If my thoughts could only change the past,
Had I known last night was the will of the light,
I would've written a destiny for you that would last.

You were happy only when you could dance...
You never dreamed you were taking a chance
When you danced into the arms of a stranger
Never thinking there might be a danger.

This new attraction had plans for you,
Though you never saw it coming before he was through,
He made up his mind to possess you body and soul,
And before it was over, your body had grown cold.

I was your father...you were my little girl...
And last night I saw you dancing
Near the roof of this world...
Your angel wings propelled you
to the roof of this world,
And there will never be another chapter
written for my little girl.
