Letter To A Lost Daughter

"

Through A Mother's Eyes

You are so very far away.
I miss you so very much.
What has happened to cause us to be this way?
It seems we've completely lost touch.
You know I love you...
What else can I say?
I think about you every day...
And the grand daughter I've longed for
Will never know me...
Unless her mother wills it to be.
I need to know...do you still need me?

I sit here at night,
A vision of you on my mind...
Thinking, 'what did I do?'
'I didn't mean to be unkind.'
Just because I said what I said that day,
You chose to be with him...
And you ran away.

It's been five long years
Since I saw your lovely face...
And I'm thinking never again,
My doorway you will grace.

If only you could swallow your foolish pride,
And admit to yourself,
There's nothing more to hide.
Look this direction and you will see...
Someone who still loves you...
You will see me!
