the marriage between trauma & cancer is not a happy one .. but nevertheless, in many respects your words ring true .. indeed, they resound with the truth so often surrounded by darkness .. Neville
Alright!!! I’ll go to the mountains this weekend just let me catch my breath first… lol. Powerful and good advice… I wonder why most never take it…is it comfort or fear of our unknown….probably both. You’ve got passion in the mold and that isn’t something learned it’s something lived. Respectfully, a deep and wonderful force…poetry some might even say… lol. Perdition~
I love your metaphoric use of water in several of your poems. Water has always fascinated me, as it is the key for life as we know it, and yet it can bring us so much harm.
"The longer it sits,
the more it becomes like stagnant water,
filthy and pungent."
I loved this poem, right up my dark, melancholic alley. Keep writing, it heals.

(cheesy)
but, I'm glad you have found yourself enjoying my work.
Living with trauma is difficult. I have a family member who suffers with it. Panic attacks and anxiety, are most unpleasant. Sooner dealt with, sooner healed. Enjoyed reading your work today Light and Ashes. All the best.
Trauma creates intense anxiety, behaviour shifts, more likely leads to personality deterioration. There are various therapies ex.Cognitive behaviour therapy....etc. loved this psychological poem.
Indeed as well as the physical effects, trauma also has a lasting effect, invisible to a secondary person it manifests within the mind of the dufferer and can be most disturbing, yep, early treatment is paramount and must be stuck with if to have any benefit...
Poetically pertinent, kudos!

I think it's really important to get help in these situations, as soon as possible.
