The Infinity of Us

The Infinity of Us

A Poem by light and ashes

Our conversations were full of pregnant pauses that ended up being still borns.
A silent longing passed between us.
A longing for words to fill the void, but there were none.
All our memories we spilled into the sea, to fade into nothingness.
The infinity of us passed into the next cycle of life to be reborn somewhere else.

Thank you, Rock and Roll Cowboy.
wow, if the words have to wait for reincarnation, the next life.
the quiet is really dense, and really loud.

Right?........ thank you Jacob, for your review.
Reminds me of a lost relationship, one that could or should have been, or even those times when my current relationship seems broken, that when the chasm between us is too wide for us to reach each other. I need connection, but cannot find the words and in those moments, your lines are so apt:

A longing for words to fill the void, but there were none.
All our memories we spilled into the sea, to fade into nothingness.

I really like your first line - think this is clever and thought provoking

A brief but beautifully worded piece here. It is a very philosophical look at something that might have been, but in the end was not. Very nice imagery with a veiled nod to Hindu or Buddhist spirituality.
