Perhaps you are more prepared than many that you won't and can't always do what is accepted as the 'right' thing? But does that mean that you are half anything worthy or are you like most of Mankind, not a puppet but a being with moods emotional, good and bad, light and dark. You have set yourself such a high standard but - BUT, a very wonderful one. Better go for the best than the worst and waste the beauty in YOU!
'Happiness is a ghost floating on the wind....
It never stays.'
You have offered your words to the public, it will be remembered, people will come back to learn and keep it. Ergo: It will stay.
This is one of the most creative ways I've seen it explained: the human curse of living both in the dark and in the light. Even those times when we feel most lighthearted, we can't totally celebrate becuz of the contrast -- painfully aware of times spent in the dark (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you so much Margie for your heartfelt review.
"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it." Why am I quoting G.B.Shaw? Because I like what you said about bitterness, broken hearts and happiness.
Happiness is always a brief visit, you know just around the corner doom is waiting to strike.
Mind you, that could just be lockdown finally reaching me.
While reading you automatically get goosebumps of diving in the Angel's immutable or unchangeable dimension up to the fact of using her halo as yin and yang thing. That catchy title suddenly pierced me with its truth: I know that my world has to fall apart, that all the structures I've built and tried desperately to keep in place must come crashing down and that, despite the immense pain and trauma of this eruption, despite the fact that I deserve it, it will all, in the end, be worth it. In the line " I was born with a half broken heart.
Sometimes I have considered it a curse to feel things the way that I do...." It's both a blessing and a curse to feel. The pain is powerful here but you get the sense of the Angel being trapped even though it has made her bitter. Beautifully penned. Sincerely your friend in poetry and life

What makes you think that you deserve a sudden crash and fall?
Half an angel is better than no angel at all. A Saint with a halo made of bitterness. If you have been badly hurt, then maybe I understand that. You sound as though you feel deeply.

As deeply as the ocean....
to my regret.
Thank you for your review.
An Angel... flying too close to the ground.
She searches high and low for her Halo...
and flies upward and onward to a Star...
An artful depiction of an inward conviction... gently, Pat
I love the contrast in this poem. I quite literally buzz for this type of poetry.
The mix of angel, this pure divine incomprehensible being, cursed with human traits. it is a WinZip of information and utterly thought provoking. I am thankful I stumbled across this.
