Fall

Soon the leaves will be changing their color and falling.

What dies will be reborn again into an entirely new season.

The leaves will make good compost for a richer soil.

If only my thoughts would fall to the ground and die in the same way.

This speaks to me, often I can’t turn down the volume in my head.
Well done!

Oh, we have so much to learn and emulate from perennials and their forests themselves!

Agreed. If only, we were so resilient.

Ah yes! That would be great 🙏🏻🕊👍🏻
Really, you thought of wanting your thoughts to die too.? Not necessary, as your forgotten memories will eventually make that happen; in the natural course of time - regardless of what you may wish for. In other words, they will die anyway; whatever you may think. This brief but poignant piece, also made me think of new life; replacing the old. Life goes on, in nature's eternal cycle...

As someone who overthinks, your final line resonated with me. Those thoughts just keep rustling in the wind. Over and over. Nice meaningful brevity light and ashes. Plenty of imagery too. All good wishes.

I sense a sure and certain sadness here but feel there should be a celebratory undertone emerging before the birth of a new spring .. a captivating little gem .. neville

Thank you, Neville. I appreciate your stopping by and your review.
Leaves helping future leaves...like grandparents making way for their children and their children's children.
