About 50% of Emma"s comments, consisted of retyping lines from your own poem; but she does try.
Anyway, this one needs little commentary; as your implied meanings are sufficiently well expressed.
And, no doubt as relevant to today's politicians; as they would have been when you first wrote this. Of course, relevant before then too; and such truths will probably remain eternal - human nature being what it is...
Excellent use of allegory in this eloquently and very powerfully penned write, dear poetess. False promises, lies and fake news are the order of the day. The world of politics is a crazy one to live in. The rich keep getting richer, the poor keep getting poorer and middle class has not existed for a number of years now. One is either rich or poor now, there is no inbetween. The lust for power and control combined with greed has turned our beautiful world on its head. I don't know what the answer is, what will save us from plunging into oblivion eventually, but I continue to hope that an answer will be found before it's too later. Masterly inking, dear L & A. Enjoyed reading very much and thank you for sharing...
Yep, quite brilliant in poetic presentation through powerful metaphor the well chosen words of contemporary times, the world is in a volitile situation as earthly politicians seek ultimate power, beguiled by the ominous serpent who whispers promises of better days ahead yet is relishing at their so easy will to be overcome by falsehoods as the populous hang on their coattails also in hope of more prosperous days ahead, the trap is set and working as planned..
Prophetic and profound, kudos poet, you caught the present mood excactly as how it is!, amazing write!!
Cynicism full on.. words to cut.. the knowledge of how to, when to. Read on one and all, this is truth laid bare start to finish experience gained right up to the last word you've left above here.. hear.
'My tongue is a Serpent,
with many heads,
and all of them speaking lies.'
Geez, this is the truth.
It is so sad...the choices, the rhetoric...the lack of anything really being done for us...
I am so tired of politics, I want to scream.
