reminding myself that I will not crawl back into that hole......again.
Imagination is not an Abyss. An Abyss has no shape or light, that can be spoken of.
I have known and I know the Abyss, as intimately as it has known me.
I will not look into it anymore, and I see no reason to,
and quite frankly I am tired of it.
Into a monster that has no heart or soul, but is full of eyes.
The dark can overtake humans so easily
We need the light on in us always
I’ve been there too don’t worry
Love your powerful write here

Oh I really like this. I do enjoy a walk on the wild side. Dark and unnerving. Confront our demons. Black eyes and no soul. into the abyss we dive. Wonderful writing.
Good choice not to stare into it anymore, it doesn't do anything, like you said, it has no shape or light, I am sure it can't sing or dance. There is nothing pretty about it. What we need to do is leave that abyss behind us and keep our eyes focused forward...always looking forward, find what makes you happy and keep it right in front of you. Kind of a dark one my friend.
Perhaps writers-block is the abyss. Idk, I took this to be about writing. Every time I see imagination or inspiration I think of writing. But I also feel this poem is talking about so much more. tyfs

I know that! Thank you for dropping by! I truely appreciate it!
Everyone has to walk their own Boulevard..some catch hold of the wind in a decent abyss and others write about a distant place, some planet out past Jersey where they still have record shops and cotton candy. Maybe frequent a tattoo parlor where you dare in the window but never go in cause why? If I want to bleed I'll go to the ocean and talk to God. or whoever is next in line. But you're right it can be a monster if you don't have a handle on the reigns. Best to keep away then. I like pouring out Coltrane and Davis .. maybe some Blues tuned to the E flat. Piano with whiskey and just let the night and the candles make new parades on the wall. it's good for me to spit into the abyss though, every now and then just to see how deep it goes. I never know my edges otherwise. Happy to hear you've found your peace though..getting lost is a weary road and that dog sounds tired. Thanks, Light and Ash~

There may come a time when I have to revisit it. Not depression, but the great unknown..or the Abyss in general. As it has, in fact, taught me a lot.
