Blue

an ode to the color blue

Blue is the color that runs through my soul. 

It is a river running long and true.

An ocean mysterious and deep.

No one truly knows what it holds.

Blue is always my favorite color.

Whether I am happy or sad.

Blue is the color of my soul.

It understands me, 

and I understand it's depths.

It captivates my gaze.

It all but makes my heart stop.

The red flames burn hot, but not as hot as blue flames.

Blue is the color of true seduction.

Blue is my favorite color, and I think it always will be. It’s haunting, but can be so many shades. I love the way you captured the color here, and if you could describe a color this poem could work. It’s just so detailed and wonderfully written. And I love how touched on the more fiery side of blue- people tend to forget blue fire is the hottest. Blue is such a deep color, and thank you so much for sharing this beautiful piece!

My favorite color has always been purple, so if souls really existed and they had colors, mine would be lavender or mauve for sure. :))

Blue is often associated with sadness and cold, but for me it will always remind me of a cloudless sky in the heat of summer. Very nicely penned. My favourite colour is purple, but blue is up there too. Have a good weekend.

Blue has always been my favorite color. It even affects the way I eat. ha Blueberries, blueberry pie...

When I was younger I had a set of drums that were blue sparkle. I still dream of them every once in a blue moon. ;)

Very interesting read by the way you repeat the color blue for sadness as well as passion, true seduction…. I love to watch blue flames in a fireplace; that color is mesmerizing .. I like you choice of words and color to describe your moods.
