My life is mapped out on my soul like a tattoo

My life is mapped out on my soul like a tattoo

A Poem by light and ashes
"

absolutely loved this tattoo.

"
Like a tattoo on flesh,
my life is mapped out on my soul.

Who is this girl?
Who is this version of myself that I have not known before?

Why do I question?
Why do I wonder?
Is it not what I was created to do?

In my mind are passing reflections of who I used to be.

Who is this girl?
I do not know her.

Do I like her?
Do I not like her?

Why do I question?
Why do I ponder?
Is it not what I was created to do?

I like this a lot. It has a certain spare control over the subject matter that promises well. I particularly like the phrase 'passing reflections'. The shape and form of oneself does shift and vary over time - you are on the Path to Enlightenment IMHO if you are asking these questions.

This question comes to teens generally ; I also more often come up with these thoughts ..... but then I think It's Okay and this is the reality anyways

happy to review
Ah! That eternal question. Why does this person affect me, and why do I question my feelings? This reminds me so much of how we second guess ourselves when we feel attraction or intrigue. We talk ourselves out of connecting with another person because we are unsure of our purposes.

Yes, we are evolving as life brings us new things. I like what you said in your profile about sometimes feeling insecure but finding help in writing. Writing is very therapeutic for me. It's fun that you are dating a writer. The man I'm with is not a writer. He lets me read him the stories and poems that I write and sometimes he wipes away tears. That so endears him to me. Some of the stories, of course, are about him but he likes all the ones I read to him.

That's super sweet. :) It's interesting, for sure. It has it's pros and cons.
Some would say we are all things to all people, that we are the best we can be. What you say really hits home, every day brings something new, surely it rubs off if allowed.
Tis said that we are touched by every place ever visited] every person who has made us smile - or sob; hat we are words said, heard or read and.. how deep they become in or to the psyche
Seems your could be suggesting similar in your questions. Questioning self is often the way to discovering what and who one is but - but will never wholly understand, perhaps.
This really is an inspiring post because it prompts thought.. and we all need think these days. Thank you.. Keep safe, please.

' Why do I question? - Why do I ponder? - Is it not what I was created to do?'

Thank you, dear emma joy. I appreciate hearing from you. :)
I think the older we get the more we self-evaluate our present self. Are we where we want to be, hoped to be. We always have a choice. And there's always a chance to improve.
