Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by light and ashes

I suppose a butterfly will become a butterfly if that is what it is meant to be, but how long does it take for it to grow wings?

How do I molt out of this fear?
How does a caterpillar become a butterfly, and how is it so patient?
How does it wait so long?

How do I feed my soul in this stage of life?
What do I feed it?

When does pain become beauty?
When does the stretching end, and how do I make it until then?
When do stretch marks become beauty marks?

Pain and despair have been my womb, but I am determined they will not be my grave.

There will be a new birth.

Well, it is only my humblest of opinions, but we do seem to feel a lot of things that have no physical presence,, like hunger, love, foreboding etc. In fact, most of what we feel isn't what we feel at all, but merely a signal from the brain telling us to feel it, but that isn't always the case.
Eaxh of us has a sense of self and with that, comes a knowing that somehow the answers lay ahead of us, in some unknown when that will somehow unlock the potential us we sense within.
Sounds like mumbo jumbo so far, but what in life doesnt, until it happens, and we can tell ourselves that we knew it all along.
I reckon the caterpillar is in the same boat and accepts that it won't always be like this.
We somehow survive, get there and find there has troubles to, but if we find our reason, it is easier to put up with and by then we know we have went through worse and can face most things that come our way, with help from those who have proven themselves in the past.
But why you asking me? When I'm all growed up, I want to be a penguin. 😀
