No name man

No name man

A Poem by light and ashes

Beautiful man with no name, tell me,
which colors have you known the most?
Which ones bleed into your psyche?
Is it always so colorful,
or does it sometimes get dull?
Do you ever go numb?
Do you ever have the urge to cut yourself,
just to see if you could bleed anything except color?
When you're out of jokes and games, who is your real friend?
Are they anywhere to be found?
Who sits with you when your emotions bleed out uncontrollably?
Do you have any friends?
Do they care about you like I do? I want to know you,
but you are just a painting...........
beautiful man, with no name.

I saw the movie the joker with Joaquin
It’s a movie I like though not so much the ending your poem reminded me of him
He bled within from rejection

I intentionally did not see that movie, because I heard how incredibly sad it was.

Thank you, though, I'm glad you enjoyed this write of mine.
I love that you find inspiration from paintings. I do as well. I love the story behind this one that you have created. It gives the 'no name man' a sense of character, of background. Without actually telling us anything! Wonderful work. Thank you for sharing!

Hey! Hope you are well! I'm just sitting here watching a movie. Thank you for reviewing me!
the no name man bleeding out his colours is a great image, it's like you want to see behind/inside the canvas to the very heart of the painting to the essence of art itself

And what a stunning painting it is! I like how you label him a beautiful man yet his face is a mishmash of colours and unidentifiable. That speaks to me that it is the mind and soul that interests you most and that is where his real beauty lies. It's a very interesting idea, dear Allie, and one well written and conceived. Much enjoyed, this one!

You're right....it is. Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
This is very cool and made me emotional :) The identities of so many beings that inspire us unknown in so many ways, I often wonder on such things myself Allie, cleverly woven poem :)

What a great and humbling review.... thank you so much.
this is interesting...
life isn't really black and white...it gets so complicated and sometimes so full of color it is chaotic, and then the colors all bleed into one another...
and can we really paint him?
it reminds me of Hamlet telling Ophelia..."God gives you one face and you paint yourself another"---

Thank you so much Jacob for your review.
Paintings are a good source of inspiration. I like what you have done here Allie. I also like the fact that the man's features are invisible beneath a patchwork of colour. It all adds to the intrigue.

Thank you for your review! :)
I like this. I do that a lot too, look into a painting and ask the characters questions and their/my answers add another jigsaw piece to their story.
I wonder if vibrantly colourful characters dream in black and white and if we are just a painting to them, sharing the same frame.
It's when there's a painting in the painting my head starts to melt 😀
