Two sided coin

Two sided coin

A Poem by angeleapaugh

 TWO SIDED COIN

YOU MAY THINK I'M PRECIOUS METAL
CLINCHED TIGHTLY IN YOUR FIST
BUT I'M A TWO SIDED COIN...AND
I HAVE CHARMS YOU CAN'T RESIST

I AM THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL
I AM THE MAKER OF YOUR DREAMS
I BUILD YOU UP TO TEAR YOU DOWN
RIP APART YOUR TATTERED SEAMS

YOU CAN POLISH YOUR ILLUSIONS
PURCHASE LOVE BY WHAT I BOUGHT
BUT YOU WILL NEVER CATCH THE MOMENT
NOR UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE THOUGHT

I AM THAT DESPERATION
THAT LONGING DEEP INSIDE OF YOU
YET I'LL FIND IT EASY TO DISAPPEAR
FROM THOSE EYES THAT YOU LOOK THRU

YEAH I'M A TWO SIDED COIN
BUT I THINK YOU'LL TAKE THE CHANCE
YOU'LL BET AGAINST TOMORROW
BECAUSE YOU CAN'T RESIST MY DANCE

hoo, hoo, hoo! This is quite a compelling piece! It definitely dances to a catchy beat, and the narrative is sublime. Well done!
